Future Prof Workshop: Designing Accessible PowerPoint Slides
Session Description
Creating effective PowerPoint slides for teaching and learning is about more than straightforward visual appeal. It is about supporting learners in understanding, engaging, and retaining course material. In this workshop, participants will explore some key principles of accessible and learner-centered slide design, including visual hierarchy, readability, inclusive design practices, effective use of images and multimedia, and strategies for reducing cognitive overload. Participants will analyze examples of both effective and ineffective slides and consider how thoughtful and careful slide design can support student learning and participation. By the end of the session, attendees will be able to apply their learning to create clear, accessible, and engaging presentations that enhance communication and learning.
