International Student Career Workshop Series: Canadian Career Realities
Participants will explore how to identify and communicate their transferable skills, research employer and labour-market needs, and strengthen their resumes, cover letters, networking, and job-search practices. The session also introduces Canadian workplace expectations, including professionalism, communication, teamwork, feedback, employment rights, and offer negotiation. Recognizing that job searching can involve uncertainty, competition, and rejection, the workshop incorporates self-care, mindfulness, realistic goal setting, and resilience-building strategies. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their professional value, the Canadian employment landscape, and the resources available to support their career development and workplace transition
