Future Prof Workshop: Talking to Your Students about GenAI
Session Description
Are you unsure about how to respond to student questions about Generative AI use as a TA? Are you increasingly encountering use of GenAI tools while marking assignments? This interactive online workshop explores practical strategies for having productive conversations with students about GenAI, including discussing appropriate use, addressing common misconceptions, and responding to questions with confidence. By the end of the session, participants will leave with conversation strategies, resources, and language that can be adapted to your own teaching context, with consideration for the unique role of the TA.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Respond to common student questions and misconceptions about Generative AI using clear, supportive, and contextappropriate communicationstrategies.
- Identifyand adapt GenAI-related resources, language, and response strategies to your own teaching and marking contexts,
- Discuss appropriate GenAI use, academic integrity, and course expectations with consideration of the unique responsibilities and boundaries of the TA role
