Survivors’ Flag Raising Ceremony
Join Western University for the annual Survivors’ Flag Raising Ceremony in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation.
The Survivors’ Flag is an expression of remembrance, meant to honour residential school Survivors and all the lives and communities impacted by the residential school system in Canada. Each element depicted on the flag was carefully selected by Survivors from across Canada, who were consulted by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation in the flag's creation.
This ceremony is open to everyone and offers a meaningful opportunity to honour survivors of residential schools and to commit to reconciliation on campus.
Various campus and community leaders will share throughout the event. Speakers and traditional drummers will be announced soon.
