Hosted by the Rotman Institute of Philosophy, Western University
The Rotman Institute of Philosophy warmly invites members of the Western University community to attend a Welcome & Introduction event for its Summit on Interdisciplinarity, taking place Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. in Conron Hall.
This opening event marks the launch of the Summit in Interdisciplinarity (June 24–26, 2026), an international gathering hosted at Western University that brings together interdisciplinary research institutes and scholars from across Europe and North America. The Summit is dedicated to exploring the nature, practice, and impact of interdisciplinary research across diverse academic disciplines, institutional settings, and public‑sector environments.
During the Welcome & Introduction session, representatives from participating institutes will offer brief introductions to their work, approaches, and institutional models, followed by dedicated time for conversation and informal networking. This event provides an excellent opportunity for Western faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students to connect with visiting scholars and to learn more about how interdisciplinary research is organized and supported internationally.
Confirmed participating institutes include:
