Honorary Degree Reception for Liz Akiwenzie
On Thursday, June 11, Liz Akiwenzie will be receiving an honorary Doctors of Laws (LLD) after nearly four decades advancing healing, cultural revitalization and education. She helps reconnect Indigenous people to heart, mind, body and spirit to reclaim their identity and relearn their purpose as First Nations or Anishinaabek people.
The Wampum Learning Lodge will be open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to welcome Liz Akiwenzie's family, friends, colleagues and community to gather, celebrate and share in this special moment of recognition.
Everyone is welcome to drop in. Guests are invited to bring their bundles, rattles and drums.
