What (Feminist) Philosophy offers Public Engagement (with Science)

Please join us on Friday, March 20, from 3:30–5:00 p.m. in STVH 1145 for a talk by alumnus guest Melissa Jacquart, titled “What (Feminist) Philosophy Offers Public Engagement (with Science).” The abstract is available on PhilEvents. 
Melissa Jacquart is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati, where she also serves as Curriculum & Pedagogy Director for the UC Center for Public Engagement with Science. Her research and teaching focus on philosophy of science, with particular attention to scientific modeling and computer simulations, as well as science education and public engagement with science. She is actively involved in interdisciplinary initiatives that connect philosophy with the sciences. Melissa earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy from Western University.
