BrainHack Western 2026
We’re excited to invite you to Brainhack Western 2026, a three-day, in-person event taking place March 27–29 at the Western Interdisciplinary Research Building (WIRB).
Brainhack is an academically and open science-oriented “hackathon” that brings together researchers from multi-disciplinary backgrounds to collaborate on innovative projects in neuroscience and neuroimaging. Participants can pitch a project with a team (up to 5 members), join an existing project, or connect with potential collaborators during our dedicated networking event. The program also includes hands-on workshops and tutorials designed for all skill levels.
Who can attend?
Undergraduate and graduate students, post-docs, staff, faculty, and clinicians—whether you’re an experienced coder or completely new to programming.
$5 Registration Fee
Registration Includes:
- On-site meals, snacks, and coffee each day
- Networking event, tutorials, workshops, collaborative project hacking, and prizes for projects
Pitch Submission Deadline is Friday, March 6, 2026.
We strongly encourage you to pitch a project! The deadline to submit your pitch is March 6th.
Even if you don’t have a complete project in mind, you can pitch a specific problem or "pain point" from your research—such as a manual process that could be automated. This is a great way to connect with people who can help you solve it together. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to see these ideas come to life, and there will be prizes awarded for projects!
Please note that pitching is not required—you can still register and attend to join an existing project, participate in workshops, or simply enjoy the networking and learning opportunities.
