John Yun Residency at Western:
Presentation and Q&A

Hear from John Yun about his journey from Western to Broadway with a presentation and facilitated discussion.

This event is part of a residency at Western. Alumnus and Broadway music director John Yun will be joining the Don Wright Faculty of Music for a three-day residency starting February 2. John will be offering masterclasses to singers and pianists on Broadway repertoire. He will lead mock auditions, and will visit classes including music history and pop music courses, with dedicated time to answer questions surrounding a career in theatre and on Broadway. John will also be working with Opera at Western's Sweeney Todd cast and orchestra.

John has worked on multiple award-winning productions, and is currently music director for the Broadway musical Maybe Happy Ending, which was nominated for 10 Tony Awards in 2025 including Best Musical. The Western Master’s grad is an innovative Broadway music director, pianist, and performer whose other projects include Hell’s Kitchen – The Alicia Keys Musical, Bob Fosse’s Dancin’ and Tina: the Tina Turner Musical.
