Graduate Development Workshop: Building Teaching Communities

This one‑hour session, facilitated by CTL's Mandy Penney (she/her), will explore how pedagogical communities of practice and care can nurture classroom spaces where learning, relationships, and well‑being actually thrive. Together, we’ll reflect on the teaching values that ground us and consider how they can shape more relational, accessible, and justice‑oriented approaches to our work. We will also think critically about what care looks like—not as an add‑on, but as a necessary condition for meaningful learning and sustainable teaching. She will also share her Communities of Practice and Care (CoPC) framework and invite collective feedback as we imagine more connected, humane, and liberatory pedagogical futures.
