DARAO Speaker Series Presents: Black Health Equity
This free event will feature two speakers – Nyechuor Deng and Safeyyah Raji (RN, MN‑LPNP, CPMHN(C)) – who will share their insights on Black health equity, mentorship, belonging, and the importance of creating inclusive pathways within nursing education and practice.
The Decolonization, Anti‑Racism, and Anti‑Oppression (DARAO) Committee is a formal committee of Council within the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing. Our membership includes undergraduate and graduate students, faculty (Western & Fanshawe), alumni, community and practice partners, and Western EDIDA leaders.
Our work centres on advocating for anti‑racism, anti‑oppression, and decolonization in nursing education, research, and practice. As part of this ongoing commitment, our upcoming DARAO Speaker Series: Black Health Equity will focus on mentorship and belonging as critical pathways to advancing Black health equity in nursing. This event includes an introductory discussion with our speakers followed by an open Q&A.
We look forward to engaging with you in this important conversation! View the poster here
