February 9, 10:00 am -12:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, University College Hill.
Bringing together kites, wind catchers, and smoke bombs, artists Andrew Maize and Lisa Hirmer will conduct experiments documenting transitory and ephemeral moments with(in) local wind and weather conditions. Come outside and watch this playful collaboration as Maize and Hirmer build on their collective research on turbulence as a way of thinking about the contemporary environmental conditions of life on this planet.
The artists welcome helpers to assist with the experiment. If you would like to join in, please meet Andrew and Lisa in the lobby of McIntosh Gallery 10 minutes before the start of each session.
