Storytelling and Song - Music Across Borders
Gryphon Trio joins the Norwegian a cappella sensation, Nordic Voices, for a unique evening of musical exploration. From Ravel and Dvořák to new works by today’s most emotionally resonant composers — Andrew Balfour (Cree), Norbert Palej (Polish-Canadian), Bohdana Frolyak (Ukrainian), and Lasse Thoresen (Norway) — the program journeys from folk-inspired roots to contemporary soundscape. Words and music intertwine in powerful reflections on joy, loss, resilience, and transformation.
This concert is supported by the Moscovich Fund for Innovation in Music, established with a visionary gift from Jim and Barbara Moscovich.
The Gryphon Trio and Nordic Voices Ontario tour is funded (in part) by the Shevchenko Foundation Boris Horodynsky Music Fund.
Location: von Kuster Hall, Music Building, Western University
