Adam Weissman
Weissman Law, NYC

“The Musician’s Legal Toolkit: Copyright, Contracts, and Creative Control”

Join NY-based entertainment lawyer Adam Weissman in a crash course of copyright and contract pointers every artist should know. After going through the basics, we'll have a discussion on what artists in 2026 should be thinking about with respect to leveraging social media and other platforms to both earn a living and better engage with their audience, as well as how to both adopt and protect oneself from the ever-growing presence of AI.

Audience Q+A to follow.

Adam Weissman is the founder of Weissman Law, a New York-based law firm focused on representing artists, brands, agencies and production companies in both traditional entertainment and digital media spaces, and a proud Western grad.

Adam started Weissman Law after moving to NYC from Toronto in 2016. Originally a commercial litigator at a mid-sized Toronto firm, Adam leveraged his background in the arts to pivot into the entertainment space, starting with both music and social media influencers, and quickly branching out to work with a wide range of production companies, photographers, writers and designers. Today, Adam works with a small team in NYC helping his clients with everything from company formation and IP registration to working through full-scale productions and negotiating large deals.
