A site meeting entitles “Olympic Education and Winter Sports into Campus” was organized by Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) in China on Nov. 20th at Dianchanglu School in Beijing.

A site meeting entitles “Olympic Education and Winter Sports into Campus” has been organized by Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) in China on Nov. 20th at Dianchanglu School in Beijing. The purpose of this seminar-styled meeting was to welcome 2022 Beijing Olympic Games and to popularize winter sports. The meeting was attended by Vice president and former world Chess champion-- Xie, Jun, Director of Beijing Public School Olympic Education Team—Zuo, Wei, Centre for Olympic Studies at CUPES—Dr. Donnie Pei and his team.

Before the seminar started, there was a presentation of Olympic Education from students at Dianchanglu School. Students demonstrated dryland curling, roller skating ice hockey, table curling etc. The Olympic museum at Dianchanlu school implemented localization of Olympic Education as students combined Chinese culture and Olympic elements in their handicrafts. 

During the seminar, Dr. Bob Barney-- the founder of ICOS and the Dr. Angela Schneider—the director of ICOS sent greetings to Dianchanglu School. They also sent best wishes to the Beijing Olympic Education Team and 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.  Dr. Donnie Pei, the founder of Olympic Education for elementary and middle school, had a presentation of Innovation of Chinese Olympic Education. Professor Ru, gave a speech of The Value and Intention of Olympic Education. The principal of Dianchanglu School presented The Practice of Olympic Education and connected it to the implementation of Olympic Education activity.

 

There were 1.8- thousand people watching the live site meeting webcast.
