Research In Profile
Dr. Cailie McGuire (she/her) is an Assistant Professor within the School of Kinesiology. Cailie’s research program falls within the umbrella field of Sport Psychology, with a particular interest in team dynamics. Cailie’s research focuses on examining how team dynamics factors (e.g., trust, cohesion, resilience, psychological safety) can facilitate individual and team thriving. In this way, Cailie utilizes team dynamics constructs to foster sport environments that are most conducive to athlete well-being and performance across sport contexts (e.g., recreational to elite levels of competition; individual and interdependent sport teams). Cailie’s research combines qualitative and quantitative methods to address timely and relevant research questions. Cailie also enjoys conducting partnership-based research with community sport organizations to ensure that the research is tailored to, and meets the needs of, invested sport partners and end-users.
