“Amalgam”

NEW PROGRAM (updated Sept. 8, 2025): Laureate of the 2025 Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition and Western alumnus Dan Luong presents “Amalgam”, an eclectic solo piano program that bridges tradition and innovation. This concert juxtaposes beloved works from the classical canon with bold new compositions—including premieres—and explores expanded sonic possibilities through live electronics, interactive soundscapes, and amplification. The result is a dynamic journey that celebrates the instrument’s timeless voice while exploring fresh possibilities for the twenty-first century.
