The Path to Rematriation: The Thunderbird Eggs and Their Journeys Home

Join us for an educational gathering that honours Indigenous storytelling and community knowledge.

As part of Western University’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, we are honoured to host an event in collaboration with Kettle and Stony Point First Nation to share about the rematriation of sacred items known as Thunderbird Eggs or kettles from Western University.

Through oral tradition, storytelling, and geology, we’ll explore the cultural, historical, and geological significance of these sacred items from both Indigenous and academic perspectives. This event is guided by Indigenous protocols and shaped through multiple years of consultation with Kettle and Stony Point First Nation.

This is not just an information session, but a collaborative moment of learning, relationship-building, and reconciliation in action.
