Allied Scholarship in Indigenous Research Panel

Taking place at the Wampum Learning Lodge, this in-person panel brings together non-Indigenous scholars from Western University who are actively engaged in Indigenous research partnerships.

Through a moderated conversation, panelists will share insights from their journeys, highlighting lessons learned, ethical considerations and the responsibilities that come with working in relationship with Indigenous Peoples.

The discussion will explore the complexities of conducting respectful, reciprocal research within academic systems that often prioritize conventional metrics of success, such as publication, funding and tenure.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how allied scholars can contribute meaningfully while honoring community priorities, cultural protocols, long-term commitments and balancing institutional pressures.
