New WSCS Women's Self Defence Instructor

Western Special Constable Service (WSCS) would like to congratulate Special Constable Rachel Aharan on her recent training to become a certified Women’s Self Defence instructor.

Rachel recently completed her training at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

WSCS provides a program for women that focuses on personal safety, awareness, risk reduction and avoidance.  Participants will also learn practical defensive techniques that require no special skills.  Sessions are 12 hours and usually held on a Friday and Saturday.  We can also cater to private sessions that are ideal for Western departments that can be held during the business week.  Training is free and all Western students, staff and faculty along with family members aged 12 and older are welcome.

Stay tuned to our website or send an email to rad@uwo.ca to for future training opportunities and more details.
