Western University Special Constables equipped with naloxone kits
Western Special Constable Service (WSCS) uniform members are now equipped with life-saving naloxone kits.
Naloxone, which is effective within minutes, targets opioid receptors in the brain to reverse an overdose. It works on illicit drugs including fentanyl, oxycodone and heroin.
WSCS uniform members will carry doses in the form of a nasal spray as a regular piece of their equipment.
