Profile

Penny MacDonald is a Movement Disorders Neurologist, Canada Research Chair Tier II in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging, and Associate Professor in Neurology in the department of Clinical Neurological Sciences at the University of Western Ontario since September 2011. She is also a Principal Investigator at The Brain and Mind Institute. Penny obtained a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Colin MacLeod prior to completing medical school at McMaster University and residency training in Neurology at McGill University. She pursued clinical and research fellowship training in Movement Disorders as a Canadian Institutes of Health, Phase 1 Clinician-Scientist at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the Centre de Recherche de l’Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal from October 2008 – July 2011.
