Gallery Practices Class Exhibition
March 4 - 18

Curating the Curatorial brings together eight independent exhibitions organized by students in the Gallery Practices class. These ambitious
curatorial projects have divided the floor-space of the Artlab to create individual gallery sites. Each student is responsible for considering theoretical methodologies related to working within a museum or gallery space.

As guest curators, the students have focused their work on current trends found in contemporary art practices. This unique collaborative effort engages with private and ephemeral aspects of personal collections, as well as investigating architectural limitations within museums, and finally questioning the significance of the ever-blossoming contemporary art biennale. The individual exhibitions act to engage the viewer to critically think about notions of accumulation, factual and fictional states, lost moments, and the impulsive need to collect.
