Summer Camps

With more than 30 years of trusted camp programming, Sport Western’s Summer Camps are a tradition for many families in London and surrounding communities. Summer camps run from July to August, with a variety of fun filled sports, specific varsity-specific camps, and activities for kids of all ages.

Programming for 2026 will be released in February, however, you may view our 2025 Summer Calendar for an idea of what to expect.

Junior Programs

Ages 5-7

Let your creative energy flow! This camp will provide the space and tools needed to explore each camper's individuality. Campers will learn different techniques and get to work with different mediums. Possible areas of focus include sketching, cartooning, sculpting and painting. All masterpieces created by the young artists will be brought home at the end of the week. Campers will periodically recharge their creative focus with mindfulness exercises.

This camp specializes in introducing kids to unique board games that are fun and interactive with their peers and family members. By playing these games we teach kids lessons such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving and strategy in a fun atmosphere. Campers will work collaboratively to develop their own unique game throughout the week.

Get ready to hop and bop with Sport Western's fun dance themed camp - Jr. Boogie! Campers will be taught dance basics from a selection of disciplines with entertaining movement related games intermingled into the program. Spots will fill up quickly so please don't hesitate to leap at the opportunity to sign up now!

Plan it and build it! Let your imagination take you away as you utilize a number of materials to build various items and structures. Campers will be divided into groups and given a wide range of items to develop and build the best project they can! Counsellors will work with each group and offer guidance and help during the planning and building process. What will be next a boat? A plane? A house? Every week includes new items to build and create something new!

This camp is a fun, imaginative experience where campers explore acting, simple scene work, and improv through playful, age-appropriate games. Children build confidence and creativity while learning to work together and express themselves. Drama activities are balanced with classic camp fun like crafts, outdoor games, and plenty of time to play and make new friends.

This program is designed for the camper who just wants to have fun! Our high-spirited instructors work hard to prepare fun games and activities that will keep campers physically and mentally engaged. Specific sports will not be the focus of this program, but youth-oriented themes and activities such as treasure hunts, obstacle courses, and interactive games will be offered.

This recreation based camp designed to fulfill a camper’s burning desire to try new and exciting sports, perfect for the all-round camper with an emphasis placed on skill development. Campers will learn and play a different sport every day, a perfect mix of traditional gym class sports and non-traditional sports. It is a week full of high-energy activity with no day alike. The outdoor version of this camp focuses on field and turf based sports as opposed to traditional gym class sports.

Jr. Nature is a fun, outdoor adventure where young campers explore the world around them through play, creativity, and discovery. Campers will learn about the relationship between people and nature in simple, hands-on ways, using nature-inspired games, crafts, and activities. With plenty of time spent outside (weather permitting), this camp encourages curiosity, imagination, and a love for the natural world in a safe, supportive environment. It’s the perfect place for kids to explore, create, and connect with nature while having fun.

Are your kids always asking why? If so, Science camp is the perfect fit for them. It is a place where science and nature are explored through fun, hands-on activities. Children will discover how exciting science can be through age-appropriate experiments and outdoor activities, with a focus on different science themes each day. Campers will also be able to take home certain projects at the end of each day.

Get ready for a soccer adventure full of laughter, games, and non-stop fun! Every session is packed with playful activities, silly challenges, and mini matches that keep everyone moving and smiling. Campers cheer each other on, try new things, and enjoy the thrill of playing together. It’s all about having a blast, making friends, and discovering the joy of running, kicking, and playing soccer. Come join the fun and let the good times roll on the field!

Senior Programs

Ages 8-11

Join our experienced instructors for a week of aquatic fun! Experience a different aquatic sport daily and wrap up the week with mini competitions. Youth will have the opportunity to try sports such as: water polo, synchronized swimming, competitive swimming (starts, turns, and finishes), snorkeling, water fitness, and more. Dry land activities will complement the in-pool instruction.

Prerequisite: All participants MUST be able to swim comfortably without a lifejacket in deep water.

"Archers to the line." "Nock your arrows." "Fire when ready." Campers will learn the basics of archery in this beginners’ program as well as play a host of other outdoor activities. They will develop their skills by learning from experienced instructors in a safe and fun environment. All archery specific equipment is provided. However, in the event of inclement weather, alternate activities will be provided for campers at an indoor location.

Swing into summer with Sport Western's badminton themed camp. Campers will be taught basic badminton skills with the opportunity to drill and play mock matches along with fellow campers. With fun mini games and activities worked into the programming, this camp is designed to be a SMASH hit.

Get ready to run, shoot, and have a blast! This camp introduces the basics of ball hockey through fun drills, games, and teamwork-focused activities. Players will build skills, confidence, and sportsmanship in a safe, energetic environment. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and love of the game!

This co-ed camp is perfect for kids who want to play, laugh, and enjoy flag football without the pressure of intense instruction or competition.

This recreation based camp is designed to allow campers the opportunity to try new and exciting turf related sports & activities. Perfect for the all-round camper with an emphasis placed on skill development, campers will play a variety of outdoor games such as: flag football, ultimate frisbee, soccer, softball, rugby. etc. With a new activity each day, you don't have to worry about your kids growing tired of this new and exciting camp.

Mustang Varsity Camps

Week 8 (Morning Session) - 2008-2011 - Women's Only High School Preparation Camp

For those athletes looking to get a head start on their high school basketball season, this is the camp for you!  Our Men's and Women's Basketball Programs will be running interested athletes through a well rounded skill development program that will get you ready for tryouts and a run to OFSAA.  Open to athletes going into grades 9-12, and focused on developing skills to help you succeed at the high-level and get ready to play in university.

Week 8 (Afternoon Session) - 2008-2011 - Mustangs Co-Ed Offensive Finishing School

Take your game to the next level with our Men's and Women's Basketball Programs.  Our programs teams finish near the top of the OUA in scoring and we want to share our methods with you.  Make the most of your opportunities by learning the finer points of shooting, the mid-range game, and decision making at the rim.  Come learn how to be a three level scorer with some of the top players, and coaches in university basketball.

This camp is designed to focus on positional specific skills/concepts for high school athletes looking to gain a deeper understanding on the tips and tricks that make special at their specific position.  Coaches will focus their work on PG's, Wings, and Post Players.  Competitions will help provide players concepts, and how positions work together to make teams successful.

Fundamentals 2 Stage of Hockey Canada’s LTPD

This program is for youth who have played hockey before and want to continue to grow their skills in a fun and progressive environment. They will experience the continued development of physical literacy, fitness, and the basic skills required to play hockey including skating, shooting, stickhandling, and passing. The players will also learn basic in game skills and be able to put some of their foundational skills to work in this engaging environment.

Skill Development: Girls Ages 8-12; Boys Ages 5-7, 6-10

Learn to Train Stage of Hockey Canada’s LTPD

This camp is built around the LTAD (Long-Term Athlete Development) model, emphasizing the development of strong fundamental motor and technical skills. Players will focus on breaking down core hockey skills such as skating, shooting, passing, and body positioning on an individual level. As the camp progresses, these skills will be applied to game-play scenarios, helping athletes learn how to effectively use them within team tactics and real-time situations.

Boys Elite: Ages 8-12

Train to Train Stage of Hockey Canada’s LTPD

Designed for A and AA level hockey players, our camp focuses on advanced skill enhancement and game awareness, under the guidance of Mustang varsity coaches and experienced athletes. Participants will undergo intensive training to boost their speed, including edgework and power, refine puck handling, and improve shooting techniques to achieve strength, speed, and accuracy. The program also delves into game tactics to elevate strategic play on the ice. Athletes will face a variety of challenging drills aimed at honing their skills and applying them in game-like situations, promoting a holistic development that combines physical ability with strategic understanding. This comprehensive approach ensures that players not only advance technically but also gain a deeper insight into effective gameplay, preparing them for higher levels of competitive hockey.

Week 10 - Western Mustang Girls Skating and Skills

Join the Western Mustangs Women’s Hockey staff for our Girls Skating and Skills Camp, designed to help players elevate their game through high-tempo, focused development sessions. Players will work on skating, puck handling, shooting, and game-specific skills in a competitive and supportive environment led by Head Coach Brittany Howard and the Mustangs coaching staff.

Sessions will include station-based drills, skill refinement, and small-area game play, ensuring each participant receives personalized instruction and feedback. Players will be grouped by age and skill level to maximize development and enjoyment.

Ages 8-14

For players with a basic soccer background who are looking to improve their fundamental soccer technical and tactical skills. Instruction will be provided by Western Mustangs varsity men’s and women’s soccer teams and coaches bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. This camp will use variations of play to help athletes gain the skill and understanding to make their club or school experience enjoyable.

Sessions will include many small sided games and activities that are designed to increase game awareness and technical ability in a fun yet challenging environment.

In addition, other complimentary games and activities will be used to develop important basic motor skills. Overall the camp will be FUN, active and will provide youth with an opportunity to develop their fundamental skills and increased knowledge of the game.

Ages 10-16

Softball Canada Athlete Development Matrix

This new version of our softball camp is geared towards athletes who are working to further develop, consolidate and refine their softball skills.  Working on technical, tactical and physical development.  Zeroing in on the major components of the game such as, the mechanics of hitting, bunting, base running and sliding.  As well, we will spend equal time in the dirt and grass honing in on our throwing, footwork and positional play. The future of Mustangs softball starts here!

What to bring: t-shirt, shorts, running shoes/cleats, ball glove, hat, and water/snacks.

Track & Field Basics, ages 8-10

Description: General introduction to age appropriate track & field events. It is focused on a FUN introduction to the sport where kids will have the opportunity to learn all of the aspects of running, jumping and throwing through track and field inspired GAMES. Following the Athletics Canada Long Term Athlete Development model for this age group.

Track & Field Skill Development, ages 11-14

Description: Continued development in all track & field events. It involves specific event training and skill development. Following the Athletics Canada Long Term Athlete Development model for this age group.

Ages 8-12, & 10-15

For players with a basic volleyball background who are looking to improve their fundamental volleyball technical and tactical skills. Instruction will be provided by Western Mustangs varsity men’s and women’s volleyball teams and coaches bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. This camp will use variations of play to help athletes gain the skill and understanding to make their club or school experience enjoyable.

Activities will include: full days of volleyball instruction, high repetition drills, several forms of modified volleyball games (2 on 2, 3 on 3, 6 on 6), basic and advanced offensive and defensive systems, and technical components of the game that allow athletes to be successful in competition. Participants will leave with an understanding of basic volleyball skills, several forms of modified volleyball games (2 on 2, 3 on 3, 6 on 6), basic offensive and defensive systems, as well as experience in practicing the movement patterns, agility, coordination, speed, and flexibility necessary for success in volleyball.

In addition, other complimentary games and activities will be used to develop important basic motor skills. Overall the camp will be FUN, active and will provide youth with an opportunity to develop their fundamental skills and increased knowledge of the game.
