Homecoming Is Coming: Get Ready for Fan Fest 2026

Homecoming is almost here, Mustangs! From September 25–27, Western will be celebrating with a weekend of events, activities and opportunities to connect with the Western community.
For current students, one of the weekend's highlights is the Student Fan Festival on Saturday, September 26. Whether you're attending Homecoming for the first time or already have your weekend planned, Fan Fest is a great opportunity to get out, enjoy campus and celebrate with your fellow Mustangs!

What to Expect at Fan Fest
The Student Fan Festival takes place at Western Alumni Stadium from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free for current Western students and affiliates.
Come hungry because there will be 25+ free food trucks to choose from! You can also stop by the spirit station to get into the Homecoming spirit or visit the Western Alumni photo station to capture some memories with your friends.
Students attending Fan Fest will receive a wristband that provides access to the food trucks and allows them to enter and exit the stadium during the event.
Don't Miss the Football Game

The Homecoming football game kicks off at 1 p.m., with the Western Mustangs taking on the McMaster Marauders at Western Alumni Stadium.
Current Western students can attend the game for free with a valid Western ONECard through the East Gates. With the game happening during Fan Fest, you can grab some food, check out the activities and cheer on the Mustangs from the stands.

Start the Day at Mustangs Meetup
If you're planning to make a full day of Homecoming, start your morning at Mustangs Meetup.
Taking place at Concrete Beach outside the UCC from 9–11 a.m., Mustangs Meetup gives students a chance to grab a free breakfast while supplies last before the day's festivities begin.
You can also check out the alumni-owned business market, take a photo at the photo backdrop and try your luck at the Purple Perks spinning wheel.
A Few Things to Bring
A little preparation can make your Homecoming experience easier. Here's what to keep in mind before heading out:
- Your ONECard: Make sure you have your valid Western ONECard with you for access to Fan Fest and the football game.
- An empty water bottle: Refill stations will be available throughout the event, so bringing your own bottle can help you stay hydrated.
- Your Western spirit: Whether that means wearing purple, putting together a fun game-day outfit or simply coming ready to cheer, Homecoming is the perfect time to show your Mustang pride.
- Keep your bag light: Bags are strongly discouraged to help reduce wait times. Any bags brought to the event will be subject to security checks.
Make Homecoming Your Own
Homecoming doesn't have to look the same for everyone. You might spend the morning at Mustangs Meetup, explore Fan Fest with friends, watch the football game or check out some of the other events happening across campus.
