Research In Profile
My research lies at the nexus of digital technologies and health behaviour change. I am interested in how emerging and ubiquitous technologies, like social media, smartphone apps, VR, and AI, can shape, influence, or be influenced by our health behaviours. I have studied the use of these technologies as a means of intervention, such as through the use of smartphone apps and Just-in-time Adaptive Interventions to improve movement behaviours like physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and screen time. I also examine the methods and ethics of using these technologies for research, such as using YouTube as a source of data or intervention, and examining the accuracy, safety, and effectiveness of LLM-derived exercise prescriptions.
