Interested in Precepting a Student?

Being a preceptor for an Integrative Practicum student is a rewarding experience and it aligns with the leadership expectations outlined in CNO’s Professional Standards document. Those interested in being a preceptor should follow-up with their direct supervisor to express their interest. They will in turn follow the policies and guidelines outlined by their organization to ensure the appropriate individual contacts the School of Nursing’s Placement Coordinator. It is recommended that the interested preceptor review the Preceptor Education Program to learn more about the preceptor’s role and responsibilities.

Interested in Being a Clinical Instructor?

Teaching students as a clinical instructor is a rewarding process that shapes the clinical experiences and future of students in the BScN programs. Clinical instructor opportunities are available in professional practice courses, as well as skills labs and simulated learning courses. Professional practice placements take place in a variety of agencies and hospitals within the Southwest LHIN.
Interested candidates must possess a BScN and be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Positions are posted twice a year (typically early February and early May) on the Working at Western website . Questions about teaching opportunities can be directed to our Recruitment, Planning and Support Specialist.
