Call 519-661-3300Requesting Building Card Access
Card access must be requested through the appropriate faculty, department, or administrative unit.
- Identify the person who requires access
- Specify the building, room, or area involved
- Include the access period or expiry date, where applicable
- Obtain any required departmental authorization
- Submit the request through the approved card-access process
Access is not added based only on a request from the individual cardholder. Contact Card Access if you are unsure who must submit or approve the request.
If Your Card Does Not Work
A card-access issue may involve the card itself, the access permissions assigned to it, or the reader or door hardware.
- Confirm that you are using your current Western ONECard
- Check whether your access has been approved and activated
- Note the building, door, date, and time of the issue
- Report a lost, damaged, or malfunctioning ONECard through the appropriate OneCard service
- Contact Card Access if your card works elsewhere but not at a location you are authorized to enter
Contact WSCS if the issue creates an immediate building-security concern or you notice signs of forced or suspicious access.
After-Hours Access
After-hours access must be arranged in advance through the appropriate faculty, department, or building authority.
- Confirm that your access has been approved before arriving
- Carry your current Western ONECard
- Use only the entrances and areas you are authorized to access
- Do not allow unknown or unauthorized people to follow you into a secure building
- Report unsecured doors, suspicious access, or signs of forced entry to WSCS
WSCS cannot grant new access permissions at the door. Contact Card Access or your faculty or department to arrange access in advance.
