Program: MMASc in Global Health Systems

Sabrina Pakula is a current Masters student in the Management of Applied Science program, specializing in Global Health Systems at Western University. She has completed her B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Wayne State University. Sabrina concentrated in biomaterials where she was on the Deans Honours list. She conducted disease gene methylation and melanoma detection research while running both Timmy Global Health and The Society of Women Engineers on campus. She received awards for her academics and social efforts from the aforementioned institute. Her real passion was discovered in her time living in developing countries, working in mobile nutrition programs and learning Spanish. She hopes to use her untraditional engineering background, combined with her fore coming global management masters to apply to medical school to become a paediatrician, creating the same kind of sustainable nutrition programs she volunteered in. She strongly believes that this relatively new program will grow her in both her business skills, her advocacy abilities and her foundations of global health systems. These new skills will give her a qualified perspective to make the changes she hopes for our world.
