Yvonne has had training in Real Estate Development at the undergraduate level at the University for Development Studies. She is currently a Queen Elizabeth II scholar in the Department of Geography, University of Western Ontario, from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where she is currently pursuing MSc Development Policy and Planning.

Yvonne’s interest in taking part in the global health program is triggered by her desire to improve the health of vulnerable populations particularly in local communities in the developing world. Her research examines the vulnerability and resilience of two deprived slums in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The project aims to understand the contextual vulnerabilities of people in these slums towards reconciling their lived worlds with contemporary development planning and policy.
