Emmanuel Ndashimye completed his Biomedical Laboratory Technology degree from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda in 2010. He did evaluation of Bactec MGIT 960 Mycobacterial detection system at National TB Reference Laboratory, Kampala, Uganda. He has worked at Center For AIDS Research (CFAR) Laboratories at Joint Clinical Research Center as head HIV-1 drug resistance services for 5 years. He conducted and monitored patient and research studies for HIV-1 drug resistance testing. He participated in external quality control and assurance programs, trained undergraduate students, and helped the laboratory acquire WHO accreditation. He is currently a master’s student in the Microbiology and Immunology program, and the Collaborative Program in Global Health Systems at Western University. His current research focuses on HIV drug resistance and HIV vaccine.
