Internship Project: Working with the Statistics and Surveys Unit at APHRC where he is being trained on data analysis and interpretation. He is specifically attached to a project that deals with Adolescent Health in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Jason Mulimba Were is a Master's in Management of Applied Sciences (Global Health Systems in Africa) Candidate currently working at African Population and Health Research Institute – Nairobi as an intern. Prior to beginning his MMAsc program at Western University on a QEII scholarship, Jason did his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Masinde Muliro University, where he graduated with a first class honors degree. As part of his undergraduate requirement, he was attached to Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute as an intern where he developed analytical and research skills on a variety of programs including Environment and Ecology, Information and Data management, the Socio-economic impact of marine ecosystems to human health among others. From this work, he developed a passionate interest in working with communities in a variety of projects in order to improve their wholesome well-being. Community health-care is at the core of his heart and he foresees a future where he will pursue further studies in epidemiology in order to achieve his goal in life.
