Closing Reception: Thursday August 27th > 7-9PM

The Artlab Gallery is pleased to present the MFA thesis exhibition, Crowdsourcing, by painter Sherry Czekus.

The exhibition features both oil paintings and ink on mylar works that address crowd culture in public spaces, focusing on our increasingly common experience of being simultaneously members of both physical and virtual crowds. Developed from imagery the artist has sourced from her own photographic and video notation, Czekus’ painting straddles figuration and abstraction, foregrounding materiality and process in her investigation of the perception of time and space in the urban environment.

Sherry Czekus is a Waterloo-based artist. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo and is currently an MFA candidate at Western University.
