Artist biography

I’ve been interested in looking at how little information I must give of a figure to convey the meaning of the image. By muddying the subjects’ identities and giving only a suggestion of the face or no face whatsoever, I attempt to broaden the potential readings of these works. The identity of the figures isn’t what is important, but rather their role in the composition. The scenes I work from do not necessarily correlate to important events; they are often mundane moments of seemingly no merit. This does not suggest that they are any less worthy of being translated. These small moments are what make up most of my life and can sometimes result in the most relatable and powerful pieces.
