Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Western University has taken the decision to suspend its 2020 summer camps including Sport Western Summer Programs.
Sport Western runs 40 different camps with 200 offerings, and services over 1400 different families each summer. Our 40 camps include everything from art, to swimming, to multi-sport, and much more! Camps run from June 29th to August 28th, with each session lasting between four to five days.
Programming is available for ages 4-18, with varying levels of experience. Depending on the session, participants will be grouped according to age and/or ability.
Campers have the option of attending half day sessions - with both morning and afternoon options - or can stay on campus for a full day of activities.
Campers can expect a welcoming and inclusive environment facilitated by qualified and highly trained counsellors, all of whom have recieved CPR C and First Aid certification. Safety is a top priority for Sport Western, as we also operate secure check-in and check-out procedures to ensure that children are both arriving and leaving safely. Included in our comprehensive safety plan is a low staff to child ratio, varying between 1:6 and 1:10 depending on the age group.
Sport Western expects all participants to agree to the following code of behavior:
Inclusive Environment: Make new friends, take turns, and be polite. Bullying and teasing will not be tolerated.
Safety: Listen to your camp counsellors. Think before you act. Be aware.
Celebrate Differences: Share ideas and learn about new cultures and individual challenges.
Take Responsibility: Help camp staff. Look out for your fellow campers. Make your time at Sport Western great.
