Welcome First Year Students
Hello, all First Year Health Sciences Students!
I would like to congratulate and welcome you to Western and to the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Faculty of Health Sciences provides students the opportunity to explore numerous aspects of health with its varying courses and experiential learning opportunities. Being a Health Sciences student at Western University is a rewarding experience and - as you will soon find out - it is one of the best decisions of your life.
First year is a very exciting time but it may also be overwhelming. I encourage each one of you to live in the moment because time goes by very fast. Please know that no matter how hard life in University may seem at first, it will get better because there are numerous resources and people at Western that you can rely on.
Open yourself up to new possibilities and opportunities. Joining clubs, intramurals, sports teams, and Councils are great ways to meet people who will become your family while also gaining skills that will benefit you throughout your University careers.
From the moment you step out of your car at move-in day or meet your Sophs, you will witness Western’s undeniable school pride. Western and the Faculty of Health Sciences will be your home for the next four years and I know along the way you will make memories that will last a lifetime.
