In addition to research, Dr. Lala has been a highly regarded teacher of human developmental anatomy courses to medical students at McGill University (1968-1983) and the University of Western Ontario (1983-2015). He has also taught graduate courses on the hemopoietic and immune systems, cancer and developmental biology. During last two decades (1993-2015) he designed and offered the course on applied developmental anatomy to the fourth-year medical students (transition period-ICE) at the University of Western Ontario. This course was highly popular and highly ranked by students, and Dr. Lala has repeatedly won Awards of Teaching Excellence of the University Students’ Council.
