Exciting News in the Italian Studies @ Western
Italian Studies @ Western is now on Facebook, and the site is entirely managed by students. The page name is "Italian at UWO".
Exchange Programs with Italy
Exchange programs and Study abroad periods are a great idea, look good on your CV and add an international componenet to your studies and experience. In addition they are both engaging and fun, funding is available, and they may cost less than you think. Our program offers exchanges to the universities in Siena (Tuscany), Urbino (Marche) and Verona (Veneto). The Verona program is the official UWO exchange with Italy and has the most complete list of course offerings (a few are offered in English, courses are available in several Faculties).

Fundraising Dinner
A fundraising dinner to create bursaries for students enrolled in our Italian courses was held on March, 5th, 2011, at the Marconi Club in London (120 Clarke Road). The evening was a success with attendees ranging from local dignitaries (including the Mayor), federal and provincial politicians, and academics at Western (Ivey, Law, Schulich, etc), The Italian Consul in Toronto, to students from the Program.
Several local businesses also supported this initiative through generous donations, including Chrysler and Fiat of London.
The dinner featured music, a dance performance featuring the Corrigan School of Irish Dance, Arias performed by Victoria Gydov, student readings and a full menu featuring a selection of specialties of Italian cuisine. The Italian Program wishes to thank all those who came out to make this evening a success!
