Western Heads East Connections

The Western Heads East program will be participating with displays and speakers featuring London HIV/AIDS Connection and Western Heads East volunteers.  Displays will rotate through the residences and the University Community Centre.

On November 14, 2013 during Day 3 of the simultaneous networking events in Kenya and Tanzania, the Canadian event will include many of the same activities

The travelling display will highlight

Interactive Global Connections Event
Time: 9-10:30 AM

Western Heads East is pleased to host a large, simultaneous GLOBAL EVENT coordinated amongst WHE’s partner countries, where internet/video connectivity will allow real-time interaction between Western Heads East staff, interns and students within the Western community and its African affiliates (APYN, yoghurt mamas, etc.). The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the AIDS crisis in Africa through student participation. Members of the Western community - students, faculty and staff, are invited to come to the Chu International Student Centre, 2nd floor, Western Student Services Building, to learn more about Western Heads East and connect with our partners in Africa.

Booth Displays
Time: 10:30 AM -12 PM

Booth displays showcasing the interns’ experiences will be set up in a designated area within the Chu Centre. People will have the opportunity to take a look around and view the interns’ accomplishments during their visits abroad.


Spotlight Event
Time: 12-1:30 PM

Western Heads East interns will show their displays and pictures in brief 3-5 minute presentations (poster programs), showing what they set out to do and what they achieve. Students are introduced by their faculty advisors.
