Throughout a students' academic career, there are multiple opportunities to engage with gender-based and sexual violence prevention education. Below are the current educational opportunities. Incoming Students

Mustangs for Consent

This training is designed as an introduction for incoming students to learn about what gender-based and sexual violence is, how it operates in society, how to understand consent and pleasure, and how to access support on campus if you need it. 

The training consists of two parts: Consent 101 & Undressing Consent.

Consent 101 is an e-learning module that takes 90 minutes to complete.

Undressing Consent is a virtual training that takes 90 minutes to complete.

Athletes

Beyond the Locker Room

This training is for varsity athletes to help gain the skills to create a safer campus as student leaders. Students will explore themes of power, bystander intervention, and more.

E-learning module, 90 minutes to complete.

Levellin' Up

This training is designed to foster conversations between male varsity athletes in small group sessions where they will focus on self-reflection, peer dialogue and how to unlearn. 

Four virtual or in-person sessions, two hours long to complete.

Let's Dig In: Team Chats

This training is designed to be a chance to be responsive to the needs of specific varsity teams and what is occurring in the broader culture. These sessions will be a space of dialogue and unearthing/working through beliefs. 

In-person session, 90 minutes to complete.

Student Leaders

Lead for Good

This training is designed for student leaders to explore how they can use the power they have to not only help their peers but to also make a larger impact on our campus. Student leaders will increase their skills at identifying situations on campus that require intervention and know how to safely respond.

In-person session, two hours to complete.

Sophs

Lead for Good

This training is designed for Sophs to explore how they can use the power they have to not only help their peers but to also make a larger impact on our campus. Student leaders will increase their skills at identifying situations on campus that require intervention and know how to safely respond.

In-person session, two hours to complete.

Disclosures

This training will equip participants with the practical skills to empathetically and confidently respond to disclosures.

Virtual or in-person session, 60 minutes to complete.

Experiential Learners

Disclosures

This training will equip participants with the practical skills to empathetically and confidently respond to disclosures.

Virtual or in-person session, 60 minutes to complete.

Trauma & Violence Informed Care

This training will prepare participants to offer care and support to survivors with empathy to ensure no further harm is caused.

Virtual or in-person session, 90 minutes to complete.

Brining our Values to Work

This training is designed to offer students a space to critically think about their own priviledge, the impacts this may have on power dynamics in the workplace and will provide students with the practical tools to know when and how to set boundaries in a professional setting.

Virtual or in-person session, 90 minutes to complete.

International Placements

Bringing Values Elsewhere

This training is designed to offer students a space to critically think about their own priviledge, the impacts this may have on power dynamics while travelling abroad and will provide students with the practical tools to know how to navigate cultural tension moments.

Virtual or in-person session, 90 minutes to complete. *E-learning module offered by Western International should be completed first.

Graduate Students

Supporting Safer Classrooms

This training will focus on building up skills around power use, boundary setting, intervention strategies, and managing difficult behaviour from a place of empathy, all in order to create safer classrooms.

Virtual or in-person session, two hours to complete.

Respondents

Makin' it Right

This training is a one-on-one education program designed to engage respondents in taking accountability over the impact of their actions. 

Two virtual or in-person sessions, one hour each to complete.

Four virtual or in-person sessions, two hours to complete.
