Western Specific Degree Outcomes

Below is a description of degree outcomes that specific to levels of study at Western.

Western Degree Outcomes (WDOs)

In May 2016, Western’s Senate adopted an official set of “Western Degree Outcomes” (WDOs). They are institution-specific learning outcomes that act in place of the provincial Undergraduate Degree-Level Expectations, commonly referred to as UDLEs. For more information about the WDOs and how they align with the province’s UDLEs, please see the WDO Description and Alignment Chart document below. To learn more about the development process, please see the Report of the WDO Working Group.

Western Doctoral Degree Outcomes

Developed by the SGPS, Western equally has doctoral-level learning outcomes. These outcomes serve as exemplars that may be helpful in program design work. To access them please click here.

It should be noted that when undertaking curriculum mapping as part of the Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP), graduate program-level learning outcomes are mapped to the provincial Graduate Degree Level Expectations (GDLEs).

For support with the mapping of program-level learning outcomes across program courses, or with aligning program outcomes to the GDLEs or WDOs, please see this dedicated page on the Centre for Teaching and Learning website.
