Message from Director

Welcome to Campus Safety and Emergency Services for Western University and the three Affiliate University Colleges – Brescia University College, Huron University College and King’s University College. Western enjoys vibrant campuses where students, faculty, staff and guests are all welcome to share ideas, conduct research, learn and work in a positive and safe environment. Your safety, security and well-being while at Western are the priority for Western leadership and the dedicated team in Campus Safety and Emergency Services which includes Fire Safety, Western Special Constables, Emergency Management, 911 Communications Operators, technical support staff and administrative support staff.

While on campus you will see our Special Constables patrolling on foot, bicycles, and vehicles, interacting with our community partners, visiting with our 5300+ student residents, and chatting with students, faculty, staff and visitors. Our activities are all with the purpose of contributing to the safety, security and quality of life within the Western University community.

The Western Special Constable Service office is located in Lawson Hall, Room 1257, please feel free to stop in. The office is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are here to assist you, whether that be helping you navigate campus, assisting you with information about some aspect of Western, or you need to report an incident.

We are here to support you and we take great pride in our work towards ensuring the safety, security and well-being of our diverse rich Western University community.

Best regards,

Bill Chantler,
