Two new tornadoes in Ontario from June 30
The NTP has confirmed two new tornadoes in Ontario from June 30. The first occurred in northern Ontario in the afternoon, the second occurred in southern Ontario in the evening. Both were found via satellite imagery review and caused tree damage rated at EF1.Full details are available with the event summaries below, along with a regional map. Description: Satellite imagery review of a storm track of interest revealed a tornado damage path through forested areas near Ironside Lake (north of Sudbury). Damage assessed as EF1 tornado, with an estimated max. wind speed of 145 km/h, track length of 4.32 km and max. path width of 350 m. Tornado motion was from the WNW (approx. 285 degrees). Start time is radar estimated.

Description: Tree damage was reported at Ashby Lake (southwest of Denbigh) after a storm passed through the area. No injuries were reported. Satellite imagery review revealed a tornado damage path through forested areas. Damage assessed as EF1 tornado, with an estimated max. wind speed of 145 km/h, track length of 2.39 km and max. path width of 230 m. Tornado motion was from the NNW (approx. 335 degrees). Start time is radar estimated.
