First confirmed QC tornado of 2026 in Saguenay Region
The NTP has confirmed Quebec's first recorded tornado of 2026. It occurred in the Saguenay Region in the early evening of May 25 and caused EF0 damage.

Description: Witness captured video of a weak tornado near Saint-Thomas-Didyme. Damage to a roof (shingle loss), a snapped tree and a toppled recreational trailer was reported. No injuries were reported. Preliminary satellite imagery review did not reveal any visible damage. Damage assessed as an EF0 tornado, with an estimated max. wind speed of 100 km/h and an estimated track length of 0.78 km. Information available at this time insufficient to estimate a max. path width. Tornado motion was from the WNW (approx. 290 degrees). Start time is based on witness report.
