Another NTP milestone - our first all-women damage survey teams
Another milestone for the Northern Tornadoes Project - during the 2026 season, we had our first first all-women damage survey teams since the start of the NTP in 2017.
The NTP occasionally has damage surveys led by well-trained graduate students. In 2026, two of those graduate students - Anij Sparenberg and Hailey Durham - led NTP damage survey teams with an all-women crew of well-trained interns.
It's a first for the NTP, showing how far women have come in STEM fields like engineering and meteorology.
