Two EF0-Default tornadoes in Alberta

NTP investigations have been able to confirm that two tornadoes occurred in Alberta in June - one on June 17th near Whitla and another near Okotoks on July 17th. No damage was reported in either case so a maximum wind speed of 90 km/h and rating of EF0-Default is assigned. More details below in the summaries.

Description: Witness captured photos of a tornado south of Whitla. No damage was reported, and satellite imagery review revealed no visible damage. The EF-Scale assessment is EF0-Default. Information available insufficient to accurately estimate track length, max. path width and tornado motion.

Description: Witnesses captured video and photos of a landspout tornado southwest of Okotoks. As no damage was reported, the preliminary the EF-Scale assessment is EF0-Default. Satellite imagery review is pending.
