Description: |
The objective of this Request for Proposals is to advance science and operational readiness for future
Canadian space mission contributions through mission simulations at Canadian analogue sites. End-to-End simulations of science and operations are desired, with validation of field results through laboratory analyses or other methods. While technology testing is encouraged where prototypes or commercial technologies already exit, this RFP is not intended to fund technology development. The desired output from this RFP is a demonstration of proof of concept, with lessons learned and mission requirements that can be used as a basis for future technology and mission development. Analogue missions are simulations of space mission operations that take place at analogue sites on Earth; these can also be thought of as Integrated field tests. |

Application Details: |
Analogue Missions support the objectives of the CSA by providing a means to develop and test planetary
surface operational requirements for science instruments, science support equipment and mission
platforms in a realistic operational environment, generated through conducting real science investigations
in an analogue environment. The current RFP is targeted at analogue missions to provide requirements in advance of technology development. Analogue missions can also be used to demonstrate Technology Readiness Levels for a prototype mission system. All bids will be required to respond to one of six categories detailed in the Statement of Work. See Merx RFP. Each Analogue Mission contract resulting from this bid solicitation will not exceed $800,000 CAD (Goods and Services Tax or Harmonized Sales Tax extra, if applicable) for two years (maximum of $400,000 (Goods and Services Tax or Harmonized Sales Tax extra, if applicable) per year). The number of contracts awarded will depend on the value of the awarded contracts and the availability of funds.
