Position - U of Toronto: Critical Race or Indigeneity Studies in Sport

The Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education (KPE) at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure stream appointment in the critical studies of race or Indigeneity in physical activity and/or sport. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant / Associate  Professor and will begin on July 1, 2019, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in physical cultural studies or a closely related discipline with a focus on critical race or Indigenous studies by the date of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate program teaching on the topic of ‘race, sport, physical activity’ broadly defined, and to increase opportunities for graduate students to conduct research that focuses on race, racism and Indigeneity, and/or includes a post-colonial, anti-racist or Indigenous approach to research.
