About Us

The Caregiving Research (CARE) Lab is part of the School of Health Studies at Western University. Our research focuses on formal and informal/family caregiving. We are particularly interested in investigating how to enhance person-centred communication for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.

Our lab is directed by Dr. Marie Savundranayagam, an associate professor in the School of Health Studies. The lab includes graduate students from the Health & Rehabilitation Sciences program and undergraduate students from the Faculty of Health Sciences. Our lab is housed within the Sam Katz Community Health and Aging Research Unit, which is also directed by Dr. Savundranayagam.
