As the CCAA, we collaborate with many community organizations to promote exeercise and well-being.
Active Living Network (ALN)
The Active Living Network (ALN) is a committee established to encourage our community to make healthy, active lifestyle choices. The goals of the committee include:
- to communicate active lifestyle choices to our local communities
- to share and coordinate educational initiatives, both local and provincial, that promote active lifestyle choices
- to advocate for policies, guidelines and issues that arise that support active lifestyle choices in our local communities
- to provide opportunities for networking among community members who are interested in promoting active lifestyle choices
- to identify and pursue opportunities to acquire funding and resources provided that the sponsor supports the mission of the ALN
The ALN recently completed a strategic planning session and will focus on:
- promoting the Physical Activity Guide for Healthy Active Living for all ages
- media awareness around the Guide and the benefits of active living
- networking among physical activity leaders
- planning for SummerActive events
The ALN meets approximately six times/year for networking, sharing and decision making. Regular working group meetings also take place throughout the year to plan and develop strategies to meet ALN goals.
